Bajaj Electricals Limited has announced a significant evolution in its board leadership, transitioning towards a professionally managed and Board-led governance model. Mr. Shekhar Bajaj will move from Executive Chairman to Non-Executive Director and Chairman Emeritus. Mr. Sudarshan Sampathkumar has been appointed as the new Non-Executive Chairman, effective January 1, 2027, subject to shareholder approval.

Bajaj Electricals Limited is implementing a new governance model aimed at fostering a more professionally managed and Board-led structure. This strategic shift, effective from January 1, 2027, involves key leadership changes at the directorial level.
Key Leadership Transitions
Mr. Shekhar Bajaj, who has been at the helm for over four decades, will transition out of his role as Executive Chairman on December 31, 2026. Following this, he will assume the position of a Non-Executive Director on the Board, and will also be conferred the honorary title of Chairman Emeritus. This move is in recognition of his extensive contributions to the company’s growth and legacy.
The Board has appointed Mr. Sudarshan Sampathkumar, a current Independent Director, as the new Non-Executive Chairman of the Board. This appointment is also subject to shareholder approval and will be effective from January 1, 2027.
Reinforcing Governance and Management
The company highlights that this evolution reflects increasing professionalisation and aims to provide a clear separation between executive management and Board leadership. Mr. Sanjay Sachdeva will continue to lead the Company as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, supported by an experienced leadership team. The Non-Executive Chairman will focus on guiding the Board’s oversight responsibilities, including governance, performance, and risk management. The Bajaj family remains committed to the Company as a promoter and shareholder, with Mr. Shekhar Bajaj, Ms. Pooja Bajaj, and Mr. Nirav Bajaj continuing on the Board.
