Background of the Penalty
The DoT conducted a Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit in August 2025 to assess compliance with subscriber verification protocols. Following the audit, the DoT alleged certain violations of terms and conditions related to subscriber verification under the License Agreement.
Company’s Response
Airtel has decided not to contest the penalty and has opted to pay the levied amount. The notification was received on October 15, 2025.
