For the first half of FY27 (H1 FY27), consolidated revenue stood at ₹3,123 crore, with EBITDA at ₹616 crore and PAT at ₹460 crore, showcasing consistent financial strength.
Advancements in Speciality and Advanced Materials
A key highlight of the quarter was the continued progress in Himadri’s strategic transformation towards speciality and advanced materials. The company is actively developing differentiated technologies, validating them with customers, and scaling them strategically. The 200 TPA Carbon Nanotube facility is targeted for commissioning in Q4 FY27, a material with significant applications in lithium-ion batteries and semiconductors. The LFP cathode active materials roadmap is also progressing well, with an initial 2,000 TPA capacity targeted for Q3 FY27, with plans for a significant 40,000 TPA expansion next year.
Further strengthening its battery materials portfolio, Himadri is advancing its capabilities in synthetic graphite and silicon carbon technologies. In the anthraquinone and carbazole segment, the company is accelerating execution, targeting full capacity of 5,300 TPA in Q4 FY27. These expansions are focused on high value-add categories, expected to contribute meaningfully to profitability and margins.
Strategic Investments and Partnerships
The company continues to build its ecosystem in the lithium-ion battery value chain. Investments were made in Sicona Battery Technologies, which also acquired Advano, adding valuable silicon anode intellectual property and R&D capabilities. Sicona secured AUD 45 million in funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to advance its next-generation silicon carbon anode technology.
Merger with Birla Tyres
A significant development during the quarter was the proposed merger of the Birla Tyres business with Himadri. Following the acquisition of Birla Tyres in October ’23, the company has focused on restoring operations and modernizing its infrastructure. The proposed demerger, subject to approvals, aims to bring together complementary capabilities across feedstock, speciality carbon black, R&D, manufacturing, and finished tyre production, creating a more integrated and scalable mobility platform.
Outlook and Future Priorities
Looking ahead to the second half of FY27, Himadri’s priorities include strengthening its core business, accelerating customer qualification and commercialization of new material platforms, expanding international presence, and progressing the Birla Tyres merger. The company remains confident in achieving its previously guided target of INR 1,100 crore plus PAT by FY28, supported by sustained core business performance and the commissioning of new capacities.
Mining Segment Update
The mining segment has received environmental clearance, and operations are expected to commence during the current quarter, with an anticipated annual revenue contribution of around INR 500 crore. This development is expected to add to the mining revenue and profitability going forward.
