This move represents the company’s expansion beyond the automotive sector. The BESS market in India is currently valued at ₹1 Lakh Cr and is projected to grow to over ₹3 Lakh Cr by 2030.

The company anticipates its annual Gigafactory consumption for the BESS market to reach up to 5 GWh, exceeding its automotive consumption within the next few years.

Ola Shakti is powered by Ola’s indigenous 4680 Bharat Cells, making it India’s first residential BESS that is fully designed, engineered, and manufactured domestically. It utilizes Ola Electric’s 4680 cell technology, Gigafactory infrastructure, and a PAN India distribution network.
Product Availability and Pricing
Ola Shakti will be available in 1.5 kWh, 3 kWh, 5.2 kWh, and 9.1 kWh battery configurations with introductory pricing of ₹29,999, ₹55,999, ₹1,19,999 and ₹1,59,999 respectively, for the initial 10,000 units. Reservations start today at ₹999, with deliveries slated to begin on Makar Sankranti 2026.

Ola Shakti is available at introductory prices in four configurations: 1kW/1.5kWh at ₹29,999; 1kW/3kWh at ₹55,999; 3kW/5.2kWh at ₹1,19,999; and 6kW/9.1kWh at ₹1,59,999. The system can power air conditioners, refrigerators, induction cookers, farm pumps, and communication equipment, with charging times as fast as 2 hours and backup capacity of up to 1.5 hours on full load.
