Sterling Expands Wilderness Portfolio with Bandhavgarh Resort Launch
Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thomas Cook (India) Limited, has officially launched its newest property, Sterling Bandhavgarh, located in Madhya Pradesh. This expansion is set to bolster SHRL’s presence in key wildlife destinations across Central India, further developing its distinct leisure category focused on wilderness travel.
Integrated Wildlife and Heritage Experience
The new resort is strategically positioned approximately 2.5 km from the Tala Gate of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Sterling Bandhavgarh offers an intimate retreat with 26 rooms spread across four categories, including Machan Suites, Courtyard Rooms with Balconies, Safari Tents with Private Sit-outs, and Forest Rooms. The property features amenities such as a swimming pool, gardens, and outdoor relaxation spaces designed for downtime between excursions. The resort aims to provide a complete holiday proposition by combining the excitement of tiger safaris with birdwatching, village walks, nature trails, regional cuisine, and exploration of the area’s rich historical landscape, including the Bandhavgarh Fort.
Strategic Growth and Connectivity
Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO of Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited, highlighted that the Bandhavgarh resort not only adds to the portfolio but also creates opportunities for connected journeys across different wilderness landscapes, such as Bandhavgarh and Kanha. This approach seeks to offer travelers more reasons to discover India’s forests and promote richer, extended travel experiences. The company’s ambition is to make wildlife holidays a holistic experience, encompassing the forest, its surroundings, history, and culture.
Culinary and Local Immersion
The resort’s dining experience, ‘The Sal’, will showcase regional preparations from Baghelkhand, using traditional cooking methods and local ingredients. Featured dishes include Birra ki Roti, Saal Patta Murgh, Baans Mein Pakaya Chawal, and Kumhde ki Kheer. The culinary offerings also extend to experiences like the ‘Jungle Thali’ and ‘Gaon ki Rasoi’, aiming to immerse guests in the local flavors and traditions.
