CG Power and Industrial Solutions’ Board of Directors has approved substantial capital expenditure across its divisions to enhance manufacturing capabilities. Key approvals include ₹68 crore for Power Transformer facility expansion, ₹300 crore for S1 Unit (OIP) at Ambad, approximately ₹15.31 crore for S3 Unit-II Phase 2, and an enhanced investment of ₹44.62 crore for the GIS Division at Vilholi. These expansions aim to meet growing demand and strengthen the company’s competitive position.
Board Sanctions Major Capacity Enhancements
The Board of Directors of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited convened on October 23, 2026, and sanctioned significant capital expenditure proposals aimed at bolstering manufacturing capacities across its key divisions. This strategic move is driven by increasing order pipelines and growing demand for the company’s products.
Power Transformer Facility Expansion
The company’s existing Power Transformer manufacturing facility is operating at maximum capacity. Following a Lean initiative, a scope for capacity enhancement by 10,000 MVA has been identified within the current facility. The Board has approved a total estimated project investment of ₹68 crore (net of taxes) for this expansion, which is expected to take 12-15 months to complete. This will significantly boost the division’s manufacturing capacity to meet market demand.
Switchgear Facilities CAPEX
Addressing capacity constraints in its switchgear facilities, the company will undertake several capital expenditure projects:
- S1 Unit (OIP), Ambad: An investment of approximately ₹300 crore is allocated to enhance the manufacturing capacity of OIP bushings and instrument transformers up to 800 kV, adding 4236 equivalent units per year. This project, involving infrastructure augmentation, is expected to commence production within 30-36 months.
- S3 Unit-II Phase 2: Further to previous disclosures, an investment of approximately ₹15.31 crore has been approved to increase EHV circuit breaker manufacturing capacity by 3600 units annually. This phase is planned for completion within 6-9 months.
- GIS Division, Vilholi: The Capex investment for the GIS brownfield project has been enhanced from ₹35.17 crore to ₹44.62 crore, an additional investment of ₹9.45 crore. This increase is primarily for procuring an 800 kV high-voltage testing system to test 245 kV and 400 kV GIS. Approximately 90% of the project assets will be transferred to the Greenfield facility upon commissioning.
Management Appointments
In addition to the capacity expansions, the Board also approved the designation of Mr. Rajat Shah and Mr. Rushikesh Kulkarni as Senior Management Personnel, effective October 23, 2026, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
