CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited’s Board of Directors has approved significant capital expenditure projects totaling ₹117.26 Crores to enhance manufacturing capacities for Power Transformers and Switchgear. The approvals include capacity expansion for Power Transformers by 10,000 MVA at an estimated cost of ₹68 Crores, and for Switchgear facilities, including OIP, EHV circuit breakers, and GIS, with investments ranging from ₹15.31 Crores to ₹44.62 Crores. These strategic investments aim to meet growing domestic and export demand.

CG Power Board Greenlights Major Capacity Expansion

The Board of Directors of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited has given its approval for substantial capital expenditure aimed at bolstering the company’s manufacturing capabilities. The decisions, made during a board meeting on October 23, 2026, cover enhancements across key divisions, with a total approved investment of approximately ₹117.26 Crores.

Power Transformer Capacity Boost

A significant portion of the approved capital expenditure, ₹68 Crores, is allocated for the expansion of the Power Transformer facility (T3 – Division). The company plans to increase capacity by 10,000 MVA over a period of 12-15 months. This expansion is driven by the current maximum capacity operation and a projected order pipeline, positioning the company to meet growing market demands.

Switchgear Facility Enhancements

The Board also approved several capital expenditure projects for the Brownfield/CAPEX Expansion of Switchgear facilities across different units:

  • S1 Unit (OIP), Ambad: An investment of approximately ₹300 Crores is planned to increase the manufacturing capacity of OIP bushings and instrument transformers up to 800 kV by 4236 units per year. Production is expected to commence within 30-36 months.
  • S3 Unit-II Phase 2: An additional investment of approximately ₹15.31 Crores has been approved to enhance EHV circuit breaker manufacturing capacity by 3600 units annually. This expansion is expected to be completed within 6-9 months.
  • GIS Division, Vilholi: The Capex investment for the GIS brownfield project has been enhanced from ₹35.17 Crores to ₹44.62 Crores, representing an additional investment of ₹9.45 Crores. This includes a high-voltage testing system and is expected to support testing of 245 kV and 400 kV GIS.

These investments are designed to address significant capacity constraints and cater to the increasing order pipeline for EHV products in both domestic and export markets.

Leadership Appointments

In addition to the capacity expansions, the Board of Directors, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, has designated Mr. Rajat Shah (Vice President – Services) and Mr. Rushikesh Kulkarni (Chief Growth & Innovation Officer – Industrial Business) as Senior Management Personnel, effective October 23, 2026.
