Hexaware Boosts UK Presence with New Innovation Centre and Job Creation

Hexaware Technologies is set to significantly expand its UK footprint with a £9 million investment in a new Design and Innovation Centre. This facility will be located in Manchester’s SISTER innovation district and is expected to generate hundreds of new jobs. The initiative is part of a larger UK expansion plan announced in June 2026, which projects the creation of approximately 1,200 jobs over three to five years across Manchester, Leeds, and Birmingham.

Strategic Partnerships and Regional Development

This investment underscores Hexaware’s commitment to the North of England. The new centre at SISTER will provide access to Europe’s largest clinical academic campus and a thriving digital and tech ecosystem. The company is collaborating with the University of Manchester for this project, further strengthening industry-academic ties. Additionally, Hexaware is deepening its partnership with the University of Leeds to enhance research, knowledge sharing, and experiential learning opportunities for students, aiming to develop technology capabilities and recruit local graduates.

Mayoral Delegation Highlights UK Commitment

The announcement was made during a visit to India by a delegation led by Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, and Bev Craig, Mayor of Greater Manchester. This visit, part of The Great North’s first joint mayoral-led trade mission, focused on Hexaware’s UK expansion plans and potential R&D centres in Leeds and Manchester. The mayors expressed optimism about the investment and job creation, viewing it as a strong vote of confidence in their respective regions.

Expansion Across Key UK Cities

The comprehensive UK expansion plan includes proposed R&D centres in Manchester and Leeds, with Newcastle also under consideration. The company aims to leverage the strong university talent pools in these regions. This expansion builds on Hexaware’s existing UK investment plans, which are expected to create approximately 1,200 jobs in total, with specific allocations of 420 in Manchester and 240 in Leeds.
