His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Strategy from IIMA. Prior to his role at IIMA, Prof. Karna served as an Assistant Professor at EBS Business School in Germany and has held visiting scholar positions at renowned institutions globally.
His leadership roles at IIMA include Dean of Alumni & External Relations and Member of the Board of Governors. Prof. Karna has also chaired key initiatives such as the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE, now IIMA Ventures). His areas of expertise encompass strategic management, technology and innovation management, entrepreneurship, and international strategy. He has provided valuable advisory services to both government and private sector organizations on critical strategy and management issues.

The appointment of Prof. Amit Karna as an Independent Director is for a term of five consecutive years and is not subject to retirement by rotation.
