This includes 14 additions via partnerships with Brij Hospitality and Clarks Group of Hotels. IHCL has achieved a milestone of operating 250+ hotels in India, totaling 25,500 rooms, expanding its footprint across various brands and destinations.
Strong Expansion in First Half of FY26
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) is continuing its robust growth trajectory, reporting 46 new hotel signings and the opening of 26 new hotels in the first half of fiscal year 2026. This expansion includes 14 hotels added through marketing and distribution partnerships with Brij Hospitality and Clarks Group of Hotels.
Brand-Wise Growth and Strategy
A significant portion of the 46 signings were across IHCL’s Gateway, Tree of Life, and Ginger brands, reflecting the growing potential in the mid-scale to upscale segments. The company has also entered into multi-hotel framework agreements with Ambuja Neotia group for Taj, SeleQtions, and Tree of Life brands, and with Madison for the Ginger brand in South India.
Key Hotel Signings and Locations
New hotels under the Taj brand have been signed in locations like Darjeeling, ECR Chennai, Pondicherry, Mohali, and in Kruger National Park, South Africa. This growth aligns with IHCL’s strategic goal of achieving a portfolio of 700 hotels under its ‘Accelerate 2030’ strategy.
New Hotel Openings and Market Expansion
IHCL opened 12 hotels and onboarded 14 more in the first half of FY2026, entering new locations such as Alibaug and Raichak with a Taj hotel, and opening two SeleQtions resorts in Lakshadweep. Furthermore, a Vivanta hotel was opened in Thane, and the company strengthened its presence in existing markets with a fourth Taj hotel in Udaipur – Taj Lalit Bagh, a Gateway in Coorg, and Ahmedabad. A second SeleQtions hotel was added in Haridwar, along with a Ginger hotel in Dehradun.
Milestone Achievement
With these additions, IHCL has reached a milestone of 250+ operating hotels in India, comprising a total of 25,500 rooms.
