Welspun Enterprises: Subsidiary Secures ₹351 Crore Sewer Projects

Welspun Michigan Engineers Limited (WMEL), a subsidiary of Welspun Enterprises, has secured two significant sewer rehabilitation projects from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for an aggregate contract value of ₹351.24 crore. These World Bank-funded projects are for the rehabilitation of existing sewer lines in Western and Eastern Ahmedabad and are expected to enhance WMEL’s order book by approximately ₹297.66 crore.

Major Contracts Awarded to WMEL

Welspun Enterprises Limited announced that its material subsidiary, Welspun Michigan Engineers Limited (WMEL), formerly Welspun Michigan Engineers Private Limited, has been awarded two substantial sewer rehabilitation projects by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The Letter of Award (LOA) was dated September 18, 2026, with the formal communication of the Work Order made on September 19, 2026.

Project Details and Value

The aggregate contract value for both projects is ₹351.24 crore, including GST but excluding any provisional sum. Both projects are funded by the World Bank.

Western Ahmedabad Project

This project involves the rehabilitation of the main trunk sewer line from Gola Lake to 285 MLD TSPS, covering the stretch from Iskcon Char Rasta to 285 MLD TSPS, with a value of ₹229.48 crore. This is highlighted as one of the largest individual sewer rehabilitation projects undertaken by AMC and a significant order for WMEL.

Eastern Ahmedabad Project

The second project focuses on rehabilitating existing sewer lines across key stretches of Eastern Ahmedabad, including areas like Odhav 310 to Panjrapole Char Rasta, Nirant Cross Road to Mahadev Imperial, and Metro Pillar No. 99 to Nirant Char Rasta. This project is valued at ₹121.76 crore.

Impact on Order Book

With the addition of these two orders, WMEL’s order book as of June 2026 has increased from approximately ₹2,135 crore to ₹2,432.66 crore, representing a substantial addition of about ₹297.66 crore (excluding GST & provisional sum).

Mr. Sandeep Garg, Managing Director of Welspun Enterprises, commented that these wins are a significant milestone, reaffirming WMEL’s capabilities in providing differentiated solutions for urban infrastructure challenges. The company aims to selectively grow in specialized segments where engineering expertise is a key differentiator.

The trading window for dealing in the securities of Welspun Enterprises by designated persons involved in this project is closed from September 19, 2026, to September 22, 2026.
