ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned 66.68 MW of solar capacity and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity at its project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This expansion increases ACME Solar’s operational capacity and marks a significant step in its renewable energy portfolio, including its first hybrid renewable energy project with wind integration.
New Renewable Energy Capacity Commissioned
ACME Solar Holdings Limited announced on September 16, 2026, the commissioning of new renewable energy infrastructure in Rajasthan. The company has successfully commissioned 66.68 MW of solar power capacity and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bikaner. This development is a part of ACME Solar’s strategy to expand its operational portfolio and enhance its renewable energy generation capabilities across India.
Phase-I of Hybrid Project Operational
The newly commissioned solar capacity is the first phase of ACME Solar’s hybrid renewable energy project. This specific phase comprises 66.68 MW of solar power, part of a larger planned capacity of 300 MW solar and 100 MW wind. The solar capacity is situated in Kelan Village, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project has secured a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited and long-term project financing from PFC. ACME Solar anticipates completing the full 300 MW solar capacity by the end of Q3 FY27. Following this commissioning, ACME Solar’s total renewable energy operational capacity now stands at approximately 3,057 MW.
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Commissioned
In parallel, ACME Solar has commissioned Phase-I of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) component of its FDRE project, also located at the same site. This phase includes 53.63 MW capacity of BESS, contributing towards the project’s total planned capacity of 300 MW / 1581 MWh. This BESS project signifies ACME Solar’s entry into assured off-peak power supply projects, with a PPA in place with SJVN Limited and long-term project finance from REC. The company expects to commission the entire BESS capacity for this project by Q3 of the current fiscal year.
Milestone in Operational BESS Capacity
With this latest commissioning, ACME Solar has surpassed a significant milestone, crossing 4 GWh in operational BESS capacity. The company’s total operational BESS capacity now reaches 4.16 GWh, underscoring its commitment to integrating advanced energy storage solutions into its renewable energy infrastructure.
