Blue Star Limited has announced that W.J. Towell & Co LLC (‘WJT’) has approached the Dubai Court of Appeal seeking annulment of a previous arbitration award. This award had dismissed all claims made by WJT against Blue Star. Blue Star states that annulment proceedings are confined to limited grounds and believes WJT’s grounds for annulment are baseless. The company will make appropriate submissions before the court.
Legal Proceedings Update
Blue Star Limited has provided an update on the arbitration proceedings initiated by W.J. Towell & Co LLC (‘WJT’). Following an earlier disclosure on July 23, 2026, where the Arbitrator had issued an Award in favour of Blue Star, dismissing all of WJT’s claims, WJT has now taken further legal action.
Dubai Court of Appeal Involvement
WJT has approached the Dubai Court of Appeal, seeking the annulment of the aforementioned Award. Blue Star clarified that annulment proceedings are distinct from appeals and are limited to specific grounds. The company expressed its belief that the grounds for annulment raised by WJT are without merit and stated that it will present its submissions accordingly before the Dubai Court of Appeal.
