Uno Minda: Approves ₹155 Cr Kharkhoda Plant, Expansions, ₹600 Cr NCDs

Uno Minda’s Board of Directors has approved several strategic growth initiatives, including the setup of a new two-wheeler alloy wheel plant at Kharkhoda, Haryana, with an estimated capex of INR 155 crore. The board also greenlit capacity expansion at its Hosur, Tamil Nadu plant for INR 510 crore and at its subsidiary’s Bengaluru plant for INR 80 crore. Further, it approved the issuance of Non-Convertible Debentures up to INR 600 crore and Commercial Papers up to INR 500 crore.

Uno Minda Board Approves Key Growth Initiatives

The Board of Directors of Uno Minda Limited, in its meeting held on September 14, 2026, has given its nod to several significant expansion and financing plans designed to bolster the company’s future growth and operational capacity. These approvals include the establishment of new manufacturing facilities and the expansion of existing ones, alongside strategies for fundraising.

New Alloy Wheel Plant at Kharkhoda

A major approval was for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the AW2W division, aiming to set up a new plant at Kharkhoda, Haryana. This plant will focus on manufacturing two-wheeler alloy wheels with an annual capacity of 3.3 million units. The initiative also involves relocating 2.0 million units of existing capacity from Supa, Maharashtra. The estimated additional capital expenditure for this project is approximately INR 155 crore. This move is expected to unlock significant infrastructure synergies with the company’s existing operations in Kharkhoda.

Capacity Expansion in Casting Division and Subsidiary Operations

The Board also approved the DPR for capacity expansion of the Casting Division at a new greenfield facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. This facility will cater to engine applications, EV/Powertrain, and alloy wheels, with an estimated incremental capex of INR 510 crore. The existing Hosur casting operations are planned to be consolidated into this new facility by Q1 FY 2029. Furthermore, capacity expansion at the Bengaluru plant of subsidiary Uno Minda Kyoraku Limited was approved, with an estimated capex of INR 80 crore. An expansion project for associate company Toyoda Gosei South India Private Limited (TGSIN) at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, for manufacturing automotive products and airbags, involving an estimated capex of INR 670 crore, also received approval.

Fundraising Approvals

In terms of financial strategies, the Board has granted its approval for the issuance of Listed, Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) up to INR 600 crore, to be raised in one or more tranches for various funding requirements. Additionally, approval was given for the issuance of Commercial Papers up to a revolving limit of INR 500 crore, from time to time.

These strategic decisions underscore Uno Minda’s commitment to expanding its manufacturing capabilities and strengthening its financial flexibility to support future growth objectives.
