This new role integrates LEI application and renewal services into eMudhra’s existing identity verification processes, aiming to simplify and accelerate LEI issuance. eMudhra Appointed LEI Validation Agent
eMudhra Limited has announced its appointment as a Validation Agent for the Global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) System. This strategic development was confirmed by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) and Legal Entity Identifier India Limited (LEIL), a subsidiary of the Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL).
This appointment allows eMudhra to incorporate LEI application and renewal services directly into its established identity-verification and onboarding processes. The initiative aims to provide organizations with a more integrated and streamlined route to obtaining and maintaining their LEIs, thereby reducing the need for separate verification checks across different services.
Enhancing LEI Access in India
India has seen significant growth in LEI adoption, becoming the jurisdiction with the largest number of active LEIs in January 2026 and recording the highest growth rate in the second quarter. eMudhra’s role as a Validation Agent is expected to support this trend by making standardized organizational identity more accessible across India’s financial ecosystem.
