Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a significant development through its subsidiary, HyperVault AI Data Center Limited. The company is set to establish a large-scale AI data center campus in Telangana, India. This ambitious project signifies a major investment in the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Project Scale and Investment
HyperVault has secured 264 acres of land to develop the campus, which is projected to have a capacity of up to 1 GW. The total investment for building and managing this infrastructure is estimated to be up to Rs 70,000 crore. This development positions Telangana as a strategic hub for AI and advanced digital infrastructure in India.
Campus Capabilities and Purpose
The purpose-built campus is designed to cater to the needs of frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, enabling high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference, and advanced computing workloads. The development will be executed in phases, aligning with customer demand and technological advancements. At full build-out, it is expected to be one of India’s most advanced and largest AI infrastructure campuses.
Sustainability and Ecosystem Impact
The project will incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles, underscoring a commitment to sustainability. Beyond the campus itself, the initiative is expected to stimulate India’s AI infrastructure ecosystem, covering areas such as power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering, and operations. It is also anticipated to generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region.
Governmental Support and Vision
The Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A. Revanth Reddy, lauded the project as ‘historic,’ emphasizing Hyderabad’s growing prominence in the global AI revolution and its strong focus on infrastructure. The IT & Industries Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, highlighted the swift negotiations and partnership, stating, “Telangana Means Business.” The agreement originated from a conversation between the Chief Minister and N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, in Davos earlier this year.

K Krithivasan, CEO & MD, TCS, stated that HyperVault advances TCS’ ‘Infrastructure-to-Intelligence’ strategy by integrating AI-ready infrastructure with TCS’ cloud, engineering, and transformation capabilities. He noted that Hyderabad offers the necessary scale, talent, and ecosystem to serve global customers. Deepesh Kiran Nanda, CEO and MD of HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, added that the company is building infrastructure for the future of AI, focusing on higher density, liquid cooling, and faster deployment.
