Ceigall India Limited (CIL) has announced receiving a significant Letter of Intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL). This LOI, valued at approximately ₹5,300 crore (inclusive of GST), is for a crucial common transmission system project aimed at facilitating power evacuation in Gujarat.
Project Details and Financials
The project, named “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5 GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1 GW) – Part-B”, entails the development of a 765/400 kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) along with approximately 300 km of transmission lines. The execution phase is expected to span 36 months, followed by a substantial 35-year operational period. During this operational phase, Ceigall India is projected to receive annual transmission charges amounting to ₹608.67 crore each year.
Strategic Importance
This project is a key component of the transmission infrastructure being developed to support the evacuation of power from major renewable energy zones in Gujarat.
