Hyundai Motor India: August Domestic Sales Hit Record 54,396 Units

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced a record-breaking August 2026, with domestic sales reaching 54,396 units, marking a significant 23.6% year-on-year growth. This achievement represents the highest-ever August domestic sales for the company. Total sales, including exports, grew 8.8% YoY to 65,796 units. The company highlighted strong momentum in FY2027, with domestic sales up 12.6% YoY for the April-August period.

Record Domestic Sales in August

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported outstanding domestic sales figures for August 2026, achieving a record 54,396 units. This represents a substantial year-on-year increase of 23.6% and marks the highest-ever domestic sales performance for the month of August in the company’s history.

Overall Sales Performance

The company’s total sales, encompassing both domestic and export markets, reached 65,796 units in August 2026, an increase of 8.8% compared to the previous year. Exports for the month stood at 11,400 units. HMIL noted that while overall exports were impacted by logistical challenges and the geo-political environment in West Asia, the company remains optimistic about future export demand.

Continued Growth Momentum

Commenting on the results, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, stated, “We continue to sustain strong growth momentum in FY2027, with domestic sales growing by 12.6% YoY during the April-August period.” He further emphasized that the August domestic sales figure of 54,396 units reflects the strong popularity of Hyundai’s product portfolio.

Outlook and Expectations

Despite the challenges faced in export logistics, HMIL anticipates continued strength in export demand as the geo-political situation stabilizes. The company remains focused on maintaining its growth trajectory and leveraging the popularity of its versatile vehicle range.
