Star Housing Finance Limited is in discussions with a potential investor interested in acquiring a majority stake. This move aims for a complete exit of existing promoters and the largest shareholder, alongside a primary infusion of funds to bolster the balance sheet. The company has also appointed two independent directors to the board as part of strengthening governance and preparing for new ownership.
Update on Potential Investment
Star Housing Finance Limited has provided an update regarding its ongoing discussions with a potential investor. This follows an earlier intimation dated 13th August 2026 concerning a Letter of Intent executed by certain shareholders with Cateye Consultancy Services Private Limited. The Company is currently actively engaging with this new potential investor.
Acquisition Interest and Capital Infusion
The potential investor has expressed a significant interest in acquiring a majority stake in Star Housing Finance. The proposed transaction involves the purchase of shares held by the promoters and the single largest shareholder, facilitating their complete exit from the company. Furthermore, the investor has proposed an infusion of funds through the primary route to strengthen the company’s balance sheet, subject to all necessary approvals.
Board Strengthening and Governance
In line with the potential investor’s recommendations, the company has already appointed two Independent Directors to its Board. The process to further strengthen the Board, which includes the potential induction of Executive Directors, is ongoing and will proceed in due course, pending necessary approvals. These measures are being undertaken to ensure safeguarding stakeholder value and to facilitate the revival of the Company.
These developments are expected to lead to a new ownership structure and a complete transition of the current promoter group and the single largest shareholder.
