Tata Communications and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the deployment of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) in India. The partnership will integrate Tata Communications’ MOVE™ Connected Vehicle Platform into the new Sierra.ev, embedding in-built 5G cellular connectivity. This initiative aims to enhance in-vehicle digital experiences, safety, and continuously connected services for customers, positioning the Sierra.ev as a futuristic mobility solution.

In a significant move for India’s automotive sector, Tata Communications, a global communications technology leader, and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV), India’s leading automobile manufacturer, have joined forces. This collaboration is set to fast-track the adoption of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) across the nation. The partnership’s immediate outcome is the introduction of the newly launched Sierra.ev, featuring integrated 5G cellular connectivity.

At the heart of this alliance is the integration of Tata Communications’ MOVE™ Connected Vehicle Platform with the Sierra.ev’s advanced SDV platform, N.IO. This integration promises seamless connectivity and digital-first experiences for vehicle owners. The technology is designed to ensure vehicles are future-ready, scalable for advanced connected capabilities, and capable of supporting AI-enabled applications. The Sierra.ev is engineered to offer enhanced safety features and superior in-vehicle experiences, including smooth onboarding, secure connectivity for content streaming, rapid over-the-air updates, and options for subscription packs, all while ensuring critical safety features like emergency calls and remote diagnostics.
