Acuitas Chemicals: Approves ₹212 Crore Greenfield Project in Gujarat

Acuitas Chemicals has approved a substantial capital expenditure plan of ₹212 crores for establishing a new greenfield/brownfield manufacturing plant in Gujarat. The facility will focus on producing new electronic grade chemicals. The project is expected to be completed by the end of FY 2027-28, signalling a strategic expansion into a new product segment for the company and its subsidiaries.

Expansion into Electronic Chemicals

Acuitas Chemicals, formerly known as Ami Organics Limited, has announced a significant strategic expansion with the approval of a major capital expenditure plan. The Board of Directors, in their meeting held on August 22, 2026, sanctioned an outlay of up to ₹212 crores (Rupees Two Hundred and Twelve Crores only) for the establishment of a new greenfield or brownfield manufacturing plant. This facility will be situated in the state of Gujarat and will be dedicated to the production of new electronic grade chemicals.

Project Details and Timeline

The ambitious project is slated for completion by the end of the Financial Year 2027-28. The proposed capacity for the new plant is expected to be up to 81,000 MT per annum. The investment will be financed through internal accruals of the company, bank finances, or other permissible methods. This move signifies Acuitas Chemicals’ intent to diversify its product portfolio and tap into the growing market for electronic grade chemicals, either directly or through its subsidiaries.

Director Re-appointments

In addition to the expansion plan, the Board also approved the re-appointment of key managerial personnel. Mr. Ram Mohan Lokhande has been re-appointed as a Whole Time Director for a term of five years, effective from February 08, 2027, to February 07, 2032. Similarly, Mrs. Anita Bandyopadhyay has been re-appointed as a Non-Executive & Independent Director for a second term of five consecutive years, also from February 08, 2027, to February 07, 2032. Both re-appointments are subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Employee Stock Option Scheme

The company also received approval for extending the benefits of the Ami Organics Employees Stock Option Scheme 2023 (‘ESOS 2023’). This extension will cover eligible employees of the company’s subsidiaries registered in India. This decision is intended to align employee interests with the company’s growth and performance.
