Torrent Power Announces Key Leadership Changes

Torrent Power Limited has officially announced a change in its top financial leadership. At a Board Meeting held on August 20, 2026, the directors approved the resignation of Mr. Saurabh Mashruwala from his position as Chief Financial Officer and Whole Time Key Managerial Personnel. Mr. Mashruwala’s departure is effective from the close of business hours on August 20, 2026, attributed to his planned retirement.

Vikas Poddar Appointed New CFO

Following Mr. Mashruwala’s resignation, the Board has appointed Mr. Vikas Poddar as the new Chief Financial Officer and Whole Time Key Managerial Personnel. This appointment is effective from August 21, 2026. Mr. Poddar will also serve as Senior Management Personnel for the company. This transition ensures continuity in financial oversight and strategic financial direction.

Saurabh Mashruwala’s Transition

Mr. Saurabh Mashruwala will cease to be the Key Managerial Personnel authorized for determining the materiality of events and making disclosures to stock exchanges after August 20, 2026. He is committed to ensuring a smooth handover during his final day and will continue with the company as an ED till the smooth transition is achieved.

Vikas Poddar’s Profile

Mr. Vikas Poddar brings a wealth of experience to Torrent Power, with over 27 years in finance leadership. He holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore and is a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining Torrent Power, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Indus Towers, an Indian telecommunications infrastructure company. His career also includes significant roles at Vodafone, where he headed FP&A and Decision Support in India, and served as Regional Finance Controller in the UK. He also held finance management positions at ITC Limited.
