Aditya Birla Capital: Launches Gold Loan Business, Plans 1,000 Branches

Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL) has announced its strategic entry into the Gold Loan business, marking an expansion of its secured lending portfolio. The company plans a phased rollout, aiming to open 200-300 dedicated branches by March 2027 and a total of around 1,000 Gold Loan branches within three years. This initiative aims to offer customers a transparent, flexible, and collateral-backed credit solution, complementing its existing retail and MSME lending services.

Expansion into Gold Loans

Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL), a leading diversified financial services company, has officially launched its Gold Loan business. This strategic move is intended to broaden its secured lending offerings and cater to a growing market demand. The new offering is designed to provide customers with a transparent, flexible, and collateral-backed credit solution.

Phased Branch Network Rollout

The company has outlined an ambitious expansion plan, starting with a phased rollout of 200 to 300 dedicated Gold Loan branches by March 2027. These branches will be established in high-potential markets across India. Over the subsequent three years, ABCL aims to build a substantial pan-India franchise by establishing approximately 1,000 Gold Loan branches nationwide.

Complementing Existing Portfolio

This new vertical complements ABCL’s existing retail and MSME lending franchise. The Gold Loan offering combines dedicated branch services with omnichannel digital capabilities, promising customers a seamless borrowing experience, transparent pricing, secure handling of pledged gold, and swift loan disbursals.
