NTPC Green Energy Partners with ENEOS for Green Methanol and Hydrogen

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ENEOS Corporation, Japan, to explore delivering Green Methanol and Green Hydrogen derivatives. The MoU, exchanged on October 10, 2025, at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, aims to finalize an agreement for NGEL to supply these green products to ENEOS. The partnership aligns with NGEL’s goal of achieving a 60 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2032.

Pudimadaka Green Hydrogen Hub

This MoU is centered around NGEL’s ambitious Green Hydrogen Hub located in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh. The hub, sprawling across 1200 acres, is being developed as an integrated facility for the production and export of green chemicals, reinforcing India’s position in the global green energy market.

Decarbonization and Renewable Energy Targets

The collaboration between ENEOS and NGEL is expected to significantly contribute to decarbonization efforts. By combining ENEOS’s demand for hydrogen derivative products with NGEL’s renewable energy and green hydrogen projects, this partnership aims to achieve NGEL’s target of reaching a 60 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2032, demonstrating a strong commitment to India’s green energy transition and the global movement toward net-zero emissions.
