Reliance Industries Limited and Rolls-Royce have announced a strategic intent to partner and offer capabilities for the design, development, manufacturing, and delivery of a sovereign indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program. Reliance Industries Limited (Reliance) and Rolls-Royce have officially announced their strategic intent to collaborate on a critical defence manufacturing initiative. The partnership will focus on offering comprehensive capabilities for the design, development, manufacturing, and delivery of a sovereign indigenous combat engine specifically for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program.
Establishing Indigenous Aerospace Capabilities
As a key component of this alliance, Reliance and Rolls-Royce will explore the establishment of a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India. This facility is envisioned to become a centre of excellence for power and propulsion technology within the country. The collaboration is designed to leverage world-leading technology with strong industrial execution capabilities, aligning with India’s vision for defence self-reliance and the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Sh Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited, stated, “India’s strategic autonomy requires sovereign capability in critical technologies.
