Titagarh Rail Systems: Q1 FY27 Revenue Soars 197% to ₹230 Cr

The company also highlighted strong operational performance, with 30 coaches dispatched and a significant 31% share of revenue from the Passenger Rolling Stock (PRS) segment. The Freight Rolling Stock (FRS) segment continues to build its order book, contributing to the company’s robust financial outlook.

Titagarh Rail Systems Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Performance

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) has announced its key financial and operational highlights for the first quarter of the financial year 2027 (Q1 FY27). The company reported a significant surge in revenue from operations, reaching ₹230 Crore, marking a substantial year-on-year increase of 197%. This achievement represents the highest ever quarterly revenue for the company’s PRS segment.

Operational Highlights and Segment Performance

In terms of operational achievements, TRSL dispatched 30 coaches during the quarter, representing a 400% YoY growth and a 43% quarter-on-quarter growth. The Passenger Rolling Stock (PRS) segment contributed significantly to the overall revenue, accounting for 31% of the total, a notable increase from 20.2% QoQ and 11.5% YoY. The Freight Rolling Stock (FRS) segment dispatched 1,284 wagons, with an order book of approximately ₹5,300 Crore wagons scheduled for delivery in FY27.

Financial Snapshot

The company’s segment breakup for Q1 FY27 shows the Freight Rail Segment contributing ₹505.31 Crore (68.74% of total revenue), while the Passenger Rail Segment brought in ₹229.75 Crore (31.26%). Total revenue stood at ₹735.06 Crore. EBIT for the quarter was reported at ₹95.37 Crore, with a 12.97% margin. Standalone financial figures indicate a revenue of ₹735 Crore for Q1 FY27, with Profit Before Tax at ₹70 Crore and Profit After Tax at ₹52 Crore.

Order Book Strength

TRSL maintains a strong order book position. The total order book, including prorated shares of Joint Ventures (JVs), stands at approximately ₹26,635 Crore. The standalone order book for TRSL (including WOS) is approximately ₹13,335 Crore. Key components of the order book include ₹10,395 Crore from Passenger Rail Systems and ₹2,470 Crore from Freight Rail Systems.

Strategic Developments

The company is also expanding its capabilities and market reach. This includes the development of its shipyard in Falta with a planned Capex of ~₹600 Crore and exploring advanced discussions for a major export order. In a significant strategic move, TRSL has entered into a collaboration with TuTr Hyperloop to advance indigenous Hyperloop Technology. Furthermore, updates on joint ventures include progress on the Rail Wheel Project with RKFL, with a total project cost of ₹2,000 Crore, and the proposed JV with BHEL for Vande Bharat trainset manufacturing and maintenance.
