Blue Star Reports Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights
Blue Star announced its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, with revenue from operations growing by 13.3% to ₹3,378 Crore, compared to ₹2,982 Crore in Q1 FY26. Profit Before Tax (PBT) before exceptional items, however, declined by 23.7% to ₹125.6 Crore from ₹164.6 Crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Segment Performance and Market Dynamics
The company’s carry-forward order book as of June 30, 2026, increased by 13.5% to ₹7,764 Crore. Blue Star ended the quarter with a strong net cash position of ₹900 Crore, an improvement from ₹371 Crore in the prior year. Segment I (Electro-Mechanical Projects and Commercial Air Conditioning) saw a revenue growth of 15.1%, while Segment II (Unitary Products) revenue grew by 12.8%. Segment III (Professional Electronics and Industrial Systems) experienced a revenue degrowth of 9.7%. Management cited challenges such as unprecedented escalation in commodity prices, rupee depreciation, and a delayed summer season as impacting margins, especially in the Unitary Products segment.
Outlook and Future Strategies
Despite the margin pressures in Q1, Blue Star anticipates a revival driven by the upcoming festival season and ongoing strategic actions. The company is focused on rejigging its product portfolio and aims to achieve an operating margin of over 6.5% for Segment II for the full financial year FY27, with Segment I targeting a similar range of 6.5% to 7%. The data center MEP projects segment continues to be a strong performer, contributing significantly to order inflow and revenue. Management also discussed strategies to manage market share while improving profitability and is cautiously optimistic about the HVAC&R industry’s medium-term outlook, despite current market uncertainties.
