VIP Industries: Q1 FY27 Net Profit Falls 71% on Lower Revenue

Net profit after tax also saw a significant decline, standing at ₹53.56 lakh compared to a profit of ₹59.48 crore in the prior year’s quarter. VIP Industries Limited today announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, ending June 30, 2026. The company’s Board of Directors discussed, considered, and approved the standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter.

Standalone Performance Highlights

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the standalone revenue from operations was ₹569.52 crore, compared to ₹561.12 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. The standalone profit before tax was a loss of ₹59.12 crore, a considerable shift from the profit of ₹30.98 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Consequently, the standalone profit/(loss) for the period after tax was a loss of ₹59.48 crore, down from a profit of ₹23.33 crore in Q1 FY26.

Consolidated Financial Overview

On a consolidated basis, VIP Industries reported revenue from operations of ₹578.36 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. This is a marginal decrease from ₹566.78 crore reported for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. The consolidated profit/(loss) before tax for the quarter was a loss of ₹54.65 crore, compared to a loss of ₹30.98 crore in the same period last year. The consolidated profit/(loss) for the period after tax amounted to a loss of ₹53.56 crore, a notable decline from the profit of ₹23.33 crore in Q1 FY26.

Comprehensive Income and EPS

Total comprehensive income for the quarter on a standalone basis was a loss of ₹59.06 crore, versus a loss of ₹23.58 crore in the prior year. On a consolidated basis, total comprehensive income was a loss of ₹53.10 crore, compared to a loss of ₹13.94 crore in Q1 FY26. Basic earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, stood at a loss of ₹4.19 on a standalone basis and ₹3.77 on a consolidated basis.

Exceptional Items and Notes

The results also detail exceptional items, including a gain of ₹0.53 crore on the sale of non-core assets in the standalone results for the quarter. The consolidated results reflect a gain of ₹1.93 crore from exceptional items. Several notes provide further context, including details on ongoing commercial suits, a dispute regarding the ‘Carlton’ brand, and the classification of assets as ‘Current Assets held for Sale’. The company also noted a provision reversal related to inventories.
