Balrampur Chini Mills: Reports 6.13% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27

Balrampur Chini Mills Limited announced its financial results for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2027 (Q1 FY27). The company reported a 6.13% increase in revenue from operations, reaching ₹1636.79 crore compared to ₹1542.27 crore in Q1 FY26. The update also provided insights into the ongoing Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) project and performance across its sugar and distillery segments.

Balrampur Chini Mills Reports Q1 FY27 Financial Performance

Balrampur Chini Mills Limited has released its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). The company has reported a notable 6.13% increase in revenue from operations, amounting to ₹1636.79 crore for the quarter, up from ₹1542.27 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

Segmental Performance Highlights

Sugar Segment

In the sugar segment, the company saw its revenue rise to ₹1,225.27 crore in Q1 FY27. Total sugar sales for the quarter were 24.49 lac quintals. The average realization of sugar stood at ₹41.55 per kg. Operational numbers indicate that 33.28 lac quintals of sugarcane were crushed, with a net sugar recovery rate of 10.86%.

Distillery Segment

The distillery segment reported revenue of ₹539.62 crore in Q1 FY27. Sales for the quarter reached ₹8.38 crore BL, with an average blended realization of ₹58.58 per BL. Ethanol production from B-heavy molasses route was 4.66 Cr BL, and sales from this route were 4.49 Cr BL.

Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) Project Update

The company provided a financial update on its Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) project, with a gross capex of approximately ₹3080 crores. Funding is proposed through ₹1650 crores of debt and ₹1430 crores from equity/internal accruals. The plant is expected to have a capacity of 80,000 TPA and aims for revenue of ₹2000 crores at full capacity. Project commissioning is slated for H2FY27. As of 31st July 2026, the company has spent approximately ₹2180 crores on the project.

Treasury Management

As of June 30, 2026, the company’s long-term borrowings stood at ₹75.25 crores for existing business and ₹1086.00 crores for the PLA Project. During Q1 FY27, the company availed a long-term debt of ₹183.00 crores for PLA segment capex and repaid ₹22.25 crores.
