GRSE: Reports 38% Income Growth in Q1 FY27

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) announced strong financial results for the first quarter of FY27, ended June 30, 2026. Total income surged by 38% year-on-year to ₹1,914 crore. Revenue from operations also saw a substantial increase of 39%, reaching ₹1,815 crore. Profit after tax grew by 44% to ₹173 crore, with earnings per share also increasing by 44%.

Strong Financial Performance in Q1 FY27

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has reported a robust financial performance for the first quarter of the Financial Year 2027, which concluded on June 30, 2026. The company’s total income stood at ₹1,914 crore, marking a significant 38% year-on-year growth compared to the corresponding quarter of FY26. Revenue from operations climbed to ₹1,815 crore, reflecting a 39% increase over the previous year.

Profitability and Earnings Growth

The profitability of GRSE also witnessed a substantial uplift. Profit after tax increased by 44% to ₹173 crore during the period. Correspondingly, the earnings per share (EPS) saw a similar 44% jump, rising from ₹10.49 to ₹15.09. This strong performance underscores the company’s enhanced operational efficiency and market position.

Operational Highlights and Navratna Status

A significant milestone for GRSE during the quarter was being accorded the Navratna status by the Government of India, Department of Public Enterprises, on June 19, 2026. This recognition highlights the company’s consistent financial and operational excellence over the years. The company also saw the commissioning of three ships into the Indian Navy, including INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak, and INS Agrai.

Order Book and Future Outlook

GRSE’s current order book stands at ₹13,596 crore, with shipbuilding orders constituting the majority at ₹13,296 crore. The order book comprises 11 projects and 44 marine platforms, including warships, offshore patrol vessels, and shallow water crafts. The company is also pursuing expansion initiatives and has secured notification awards for projects from ONGC and Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port.
