Websol Energy: Q1 FY27 Revenue Surges 70% to ₹373 Crore, Repays IREDA Loan

Websol Energy System Limited announced a robust first quarter for FY27, with revenue from operations soaring 70% year-over-year to ₹372.60 crore. The company also reported a 16% increase in PAT to ₹77.79 crore and successfully prepaid its entire outstanding term loan of ₹110 crore from IREDA. Module production saw a significant rise to 103 MW, with capacity utilization reaching 81%.

Strong Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27

Websol Energy System Limited has reported exceptional financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. Revenue from operations witnessed a significant surge of 70%, reaching ₹372.60 crore compared to ₹218.75 crore in the same period last year (Q1 FY26). This strong top-line growth underscores the company’s expanding market presence and increasing demand for its solar products.

Profitability and Operational Highlights

The company’s EBITDA also saw a healthy increase of 21%, standing at ₹125.58 crore for Q1 FY27, up from ₹103.48 crore in Q1 FY26. Profit After Tax (PAT) grew by 16% to ₹77.79 crore, compared to ₹67.18 crore in the prior year’s quarter. The EBITDA margin for the period was 34%. Operational performance was equally impressive, with module production increasing to 103 MW from 50 MW a year earlier, boosting module capacity utilization to 81% from 39%. Cell production also saw a substantial increase to 259 MW from 126 MW.

Debt Prepayment and Financial Strengthening

In a significant move towards strengthening its balance sheet, Websol Energy prepaid its entire outstanding term loan of ₹110 crore from the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) on August 4, 2026. This prepayment was made through internal accruals without raising fresh capital or impacting ongoing investment plans. Consequently, collateral securities, including promoter-pledged shares, are expected to be released, reducing the pledged promoter shareholding from 80% to 16%.

Capacity Expansion and Future Outlook

The company is also progressing with its 750 MW TOPCon Project, upgrading its existing Mono PERC solar cell manufacturing lines. Upon completion by March 2027, the total TOPCon cell capacity will reach 750 MW, increasing overall solar cell manufacturing capacity to 1,350 MW. This upgrade positions Websol Energy to cater to the growing demand for high-efficiency solar cells and supports its planned expansion to 4 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity.

Mr. Sohan Lal Agarwal, Managing Director, commented on the performance, stating, “Q1 has started FY27 on the footing we wanted. Revenue is up 70% over the same quarter last year and both our lines are running close to the levels we had planned for… We would rather run the full asset base well than protect a margin number by holding back volume.”
