Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) has declared its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27), ending June 30, 2026. The company posted a consolidated revenue from operations of ₹2,026 crore, marking an impressive 11% growth compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year (Q1 FY26), when revenue stood at ₹1,831 crore.
Key Financial Highlights
While revenue saw a healthy increase, the consolidated EBITDA for the quarter was ₹167 crore, a marginal decrease of 2% from ₹169 crore in Q1 FY26. Consequently, the EBITDA margin stood at 8.2%, down from 9.3% in the prior year. This moderation in margin is attributed to factors such as lower other income and the ramp-up of newer formats like OWND and Galeries Lafayette. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) was -₹320 crore, and the Net Profit After Tax (PAT) was -₹249 crore for Q1 FY27.
Segmental Performance Overview
ABFRL’s performance was characterized by growth across its diverse portfolio segments:
- Pantaloons Segment: This segment demonstrated sustained strong trajectory with revenue growing 10% YoY to ₹1,204 crore, maintaining an EBITDA margin of 15.9%.
- Ethnic Businesses: Revenue increased by 4% YoY to ₹454 crore, with the EBITDA margin stable at 0.1%.
- TMRW: The digital brands portfolio reported revenue growth of 11% YoY to ₹220 crore, with a notable reduction in losses, indicated by a narrowed EBITDA loss of -₹42 crore.
- Others (Luxury Retail): This segment achieved a significant 30% YoY growth in revenue to ₹157 crore, driven by the ramp-up of Galeries Lafayette and strong performance in The Collective.
Network Expansion
The company continues to expand its retail footprint. In Q1 FY27, ABFRL added 45+ stores across its brands, with a net area addition of approximately 70,000 sq. ft. The total retail footprint now exceeds 7.9 million sq. ft.
