Bharti Airtel has received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Jammu & Kashmir LSA, imposing a penalty of ₹1,12,000. The penalty relates to alleged violations of subscriber verification norms.

Details of the Alleged Violation

The DoT conducted a Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit for Quarter 1, 2025-26 (Apr-Jun). Following the audit, the DoT alleged that Airtel violated certain terms and conditions related to subscriber verification. Airtel is required to verify customers before enrollment as subscribers.

Company Response

Bharti Airtel does not agree with the DoT’s findings. The company plans to take appropriate action to seek rectification or reversal of the penalty notice.

Financial Impact

The maximum financial impact is limited to the penalty amount of ₹1,12,000.
