Berger Paints India Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Results

Berger Paints India has unveiled its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, highlighting robust performance across both standalone and consolidated operations. The company achieved double-digit growth in revenue and operating profit, despite a challenging West Asia environment.

Standalone Performance Highlights

On a standalone basis, Berger Paints India reported a notable increase in profitability. Revenue from operations for the quarter grew by 12.7% to ₹3,226.7 crore, compared to ₹2,862.6 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. EBITDA also saw a substantial rise of 12.6% to ₹562.2 crore. The net profit for the quarter surged by 25.5% to ₹368.7 crore, up from ₹293.8 crore in the prior year.

Consolidated Performance Highlights

The consolidated financial results also reflect strong growth momentum. Revenue from operations increased by 12.0% to ₹3,583.8 crore from ₹3,200.8 crore in the same period last year. Consolidated EBITDA (excluding other income) rose by 15.0% to ₹607.4 crore. The consolidated net profit registered a significant jump of 28.6%, reaching ₹405.0 crore compared to ₹315.0 crore in the previous year’s first quarter.

Drivers of Growth

The company attributed the growth to strong performance in its key segments, including Decorative and Automotive. The management noted a progressive demand improvement and effective price increases. Despite some moderation in gross margins due to inflation in crude-based raw materials, prudent financial controls and improved efficiencies maintained a healthy operating profit margin. New product launches and network expansion in urban markets also contributed to the positive results.

Future Outlook

Berger Paints India expressed optimism for the months ahead, citing gradual improvement in domestic demand indicators and a favorable monsoon forecast. While acknowledging near-term margin risks from forex volatility and geopolitical uncertainty, the company remains focused on network expansion, product innovation, and brand building to enhance stakeholder value.

Exceptional Items

The financial statements also noted two exceptional items: the impact of new labor codes notified in November 2025, and a fire incident at a warehouse in Barasat, West Bengal, during the quarter ended June 30, 2025, which resulted in a loss of inventory and fixed assets amounting to ₹36.81 crore.
