Great Eastern Shipping: Q1 FY27 Results Show Profit Growth, Declares ₹14.40 Dividend

Financial Performance for Q1 FY27

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited has announced its unaudited consolidated financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2026. The Board of Directors, at their meeting held on August 03, 2026, considered and approved these provisional results. The total income for the quarter stood at ₹2,286.21 crore, with total expenses amounting to ₹921.43 crore, leading to a profit before tax of ₹1,364.78 crore. After accounting for tax expenses, the profit for the period attributable to owners of the company was ₹1,308.84 crore.

Dividend Declaration

In a significant move for shareholders, the Board of Directors declared an interim dividend of ₹14.40 per equity share for the financial year 2026-27. This dividend will be paid to eligible equity shareholders whose names appear on the company’s register on the ‘Record Date’ of August 07, 2026. Dividend payments are scheduled to commence on or after August 27, 2026.

Fleet Changes

The company also reported changes to its fleet during and subsequent to the quarter. These include the sale of its 2007-built Medium Range Tanker, ‘Jag Prakash’, the contracted sale and delivery of its 2003-built Medium Range Tanker, ‘Jag Pankhi’, and the contracted sale and delivery of its 2009-built Long Range 2 Tanker, ‘Jag Lokesh’. On the purchase side, the company took delivery of a secondhand Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier, ‘Jag Abhishek’, and a secondhand Medium Range Tanker, ‘Jag Prabhu’. Additionally, it contracted to buy a secondhand Long Range 2 Tanker, ‘Jag Laxman’, with delivery subsequent to the quarter’s end.

The full financial results, along with the Limited Review Report and Security Cover Certificate for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, have been attached and will be published in newspapers as required. The company also provided additional disclosures as per SEBI regulations concerning its secured and unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures, detailing security cover and covenant compliance.
