The company’s net revenue reached INR 11,279 crore, marking a significant 10.5% year-on-year increase. This growth was achieved despite ongoing geopolitical disruptions and supply chain pressures.

The consolidated performance for Q1 FY27 revealed the following key figures:
- Net revenue: INR 11,279 crore, up by 10.5% YoY
- EBITDA: INR 1,329 crore, up by 1.5% YoY
- Profit After Tax (PAT): INR 769 crore, up by 7.6% YoY
- Finished goods sales volume: 580,805 tonnes, down by 7.3% YoY
- Net debt: INR 2,950 crore
- Net debt-to-equity ratio: 0.14x
Robust Demand and Strategic Execution
The company’s strong performance was supported by healthy demand across critical end-use sectors, including mobility, infrastructure, manufacturing, and consumer sectors. Special-grade volumes and sales to the white goods segment, as well as metro rail projects, experienced healthy growth. The automotive segment also remained a key growth driver. Furthermore, JSL secured orders for specialised stainless steel grades for the power and oil and gas sectors.
Navigating Challenges
The quarter presented a complex backdrop, including disruptions in industrial gas availability due to the Middle East crisis. JSL proactively mitigated these issues by increasing the use of piped natural gas and temporarily moderating production. Despite these challenges, the company maintained a healthy financial trajectory by focusing on value-added products.
Export Business Performance
The export business remained stable amidst a challenging global environment, with a diversified market portfolio contributing to exports comprising 11% of the overall sales mix. Opportunities in South Korea, Japan, and Brazil, alongside continued presence in Europe and the U.S., supported this segment.
Sustainability and Digitalisation Efforts
Jindal Stainless also highlighted its commitment to sustainability and ESG, achieving a 12% reduction in GHG emission intensity at its Hisar facility. The company also strengthened its operational decarbonisation efforts and is transitioning to Natural Gas for select operations. Digitalisation initiatives include strengthening the Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) platform and implementing Total Process Quality Control (TPQC).
