Tata Motors: Invests ₹120 Crore More in Freight Tiger to Boost AI Logistics

Tata Motors has invested an additional ₹120 crore in Freight Commerce Solutions Private Limited (Freight Tiger), an associate company, through subscription of Series C CCPS. The company also acquired 49,500 equity shares for ₹14 crore. With this, Tata Motors’ total investment in Freight Tiger rises to ₹270 crore, and the company is expected to hold 42%-46% stake upon conversion of Series C CCPS.

Increased Investment in Freight Tiger

Tata Motors has deepened its commitment to Freight Tiger with a further investment of ₹120 crore via Series C Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS). This follows an earlier investment of ₹150 crore made in October 2023, bringing the total investment to ₹270 crore. The recent agreement was signed on September 30, 2025.

Details of the Transaction

In addition to the primary investment, Tata Motors has also acquired 49,500 equity shares in Freight Tiger through a secondary purchase from existing shareholders. The consideration for this acquisition is approximately ₹14 crore.

Expected Stake Post-Transaction

Following the completion of these transactions, Tata Motors is expected to hold a 42%-46% stake in Freight Tiger on a fully diluted basis, contingent upon the conversion of Series C CCPS.

Focus on AI-Driven Logistics

The investment will help Freight Tiger accelerate the development of AI-powered solutions to enhance operational efficiency, provide actionable business intelligence, and streamline back-office workflows. Freight Tiger is set to launch several AI-powered innovations in Q4 2025, including a Vehicle Supply Density Platform, a Next-Generation Dispatch Planning & Procurement Module, and an Integrated Freight Desk.
