This collaboration will leverage TotalEnergies’ expertise and support OIL’s offshore exploration initiatives, including stratigraphic well drilling and evaluation of new opportunities.

Oil India Limited (OIL) and TotalEnergies have partnered through a Technology Service Agreement signed on November 19, 2025, in New Delhi. This agreement is aimed at strengthening strategic collaboration for exploration activities in the deep and ultra-deepwater offshore frontiers of Indian sedimentary basins.
Key Areas of Focus
The collaboration will concentrate on the following:
- Exploration in OIL’s OALP-IX ultradeep water blocks in Mahanadi & Krishna-Godavari Basins.
- Ongoing appraisal programme of gas find in the shallow Offshore Blocks in Andaman Basin.
- Evaluation of opportunities under ongoing OALP X / future bid rounds.
- Support during stratigraphic well drilling initiative in offshore Category-II & III Basins.
