NTPC Green Energy Arm Commissions 243.66 MW Solar Capacity in Gujarat

NTPC’s subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited, has successfully commissioned a capacity of 243.66 MW of its 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat effective December 17, 2025. This commissioning increases the total installed capacity of the NTPC group to 85,503 MW and strengthens NTPC’s position in the renewable energy sector.

Solar Project Commissioning

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for part capacity of 243.66 MW out of its 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project. The project is located in Gujarat and falls under the CPSU scheme Phase-II Tranche-III. The commissioning was effective from 00:00 hrs on December 17, 2025.

Impact on NTPC’s Total Capacity

With the commissioning of this capacity, the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC group now stands at 85,503 MW. This further solidifies NTPC’s position as a major player in India’s power generation landscape.

NGEL’s Growing Renewable Portfolio

With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of NGEL Group will increase to 7,889.335 MW. The current commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stands at 7645.675 MW.
