Cyient Foundation, in collaboration with SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation, has launched an AI & Future Skills Center of Excellence in Nagaland. Inaugurated by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, it aims to boost AI-driven skills and employability in Northeast India. The center will offer AI-integrated programs in areas like handloom, software coding, and robotics. With SIDBI’s support, it seeks to bridge employability gaps and promote digital inclusion, training 200-240 youth annually.
AI Skills Hub Inaugurated
Cyient Foundation, the CSR arm of Cyient, has partnered with SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation to establish an AI & Future Skills Center of Excellence at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC) in Dimapur. The launch event took place on November 15, 2025.
Objective and Goals
This initiative aims to accelerate AI-driven skilling, enhance employability, and empower local youth in Northeast India with future-ready digital and technological skills. The center was inaugurated by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Honorable Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in the presence of Y.Patton, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, and Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman, Cyient Limited.
Training Programs
The Center of Excellence (CoE) will offer AI-integrated skilling programs in domains such as Handloom & Handicraft, AI, Software Coding & Robotics. These programs are designed to bridge employability gaps, promote entrepreneurship, and foster digital inclusion in the region.
Partnership and Support
The initiative is supported through a CSR partnership with the SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation. This collaboration has extended funding support towards setting up infrastructure, AI simulation labs, and digital classrooms at NTTC.
Expected Outcomes
The CoE is expected to train between 200-240 youth annually, with a projection that 75% of graduates will secure employment or become self-employed within three months of course completion. The training model encompasses faculty training, AI-based curriculum integration, and market linkage opportunities.
