The DoT’s audit, which took place in July 2025, identified instances where Bharti Airtel allegedly did not fully comply with the required subscriber verification norms. According to the notice received on December 8, 2025, at 1658 Hrs IST, these violations pertain to specific terms and conditions outlined in the License Agreement.
Financial Impact and Company Response
As a result of these findings, Bharti Airtel is subject to a penalty of ₹6,99,000. In response, the company has decided not to contest the penalty and will proceed with paying the stipulated amount.
